Elkhart Pay It Forward Story

Santa and his "Christmas angels" heard about a family that would not have a Christmas because of an unexpected death in the family. The family had not asked for help from anyone. They were just happy to be together and planned to reflect on happy memories together on Christmas. Santa loaded his sleigh and made a special stop at their home with food, clothes and toys. Several hugs and tears were exchanged. Santa said it was his best Christmas ever. Pay It Forward!

This is a Family-Friendly event. We encourage all "Santa Helpers" to dress in Santa suits or something "Christmasy". We welcome reindeer, elves, snowmen, Christmas packages, or if you just want to wear a Santa Hat or wrap garland around your head, that's fine too. Just something "Christmasy" needs to be worn by everyone participating. If you have small children that will ride in a stroller or wagon then you're welcome to decorate the wagon instead of the child.

Why should you do this walk? Besides the fact that it's a great way to spend quality time with your family and it's the only event of this kind in the Michiana area, you are Paying It Forward! Registration is only $10 for individuals and $20 for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children). For every $1 donated, 7 people can be fed. So if your family of 5 registers, you're helping to feed almost 100 people. That's a pretty awesome Christmas gift we think! Details for the 2012 stroll coming soon!
